Sensational Sedation

The majority of today's TV entertainment accurately reflects the godless society we live in. Blasphemous profanity, graphic violence, and sexual perversions have found their way into even some so-called "Christian" screenplays. Make no mistake: Satan, the prince of the power of the air (Ephesians 2:2) uses television and the drug of Hollywood movies to effectively sedate and indoctrinate the minds of men, women, and children. "The god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them"
(II Corinthians 4:4).

Those who love the Lord Jesus are called to fight the good fight of faith (I Timothy 6:12) and set their minds on things above (Colossians 3:1-2). Certainly, there are necessary times to enjoy relaxation and wholesome entertainment, but even then we should be careful what we see and hear. Psalm 101:3 says, "I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me." How easy it is to allow the trash of the world to infiltrate our minds (II Corinthians 7:1).

Please read the entertainment stories below to increase your awareness of the enemy's devices (II Corinthians 2:11), for he aims to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). We encourage you to redeem the time (Ephesians 5:16) and guard your heart toward God with all diligence (Proverbs 4:23) — especially in the area of leisure. "Beware lest any man spoil [take captive or rob] you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ" (Colossians 2:8).
