"In this painting, I did not feel it was important to emphasize
Jesus' facial features. I wanted the viewer to imagine how He would look if you were to come upon Him in
a private moment of prayer. What I wanted to emphasize most were His strong carpenter's hands, clasped
in prayer, representing His communion with the Father. The title, Thy Will Be Done, is from The Lord's Prayer, in which Christ taught us how we should pray
to the Father. This painting is meant to be a gentle reminder to cling to God in prayer, not only in times of need,
but thoughtfully and often, just as Christ so often did."
