This is the first print in Charles Peterson's new series — A Week In Door County. This will be a seven print series; one print for each day of the week. The series will be completed in 2007. This is the very first giclée on watercolor paper Charles Peterson has ever published. This new technology allows for the use of authentic watercolor paper for a look so close to the original that they are almost indistinguishable. Keep in mind that there are only 600 signed and numbered prints in this low edition.
Ruckert's Store has been the shopping center for Ellison Bay, Wisconsin for more than a century; part grocery store, part hardware and part drugstore. Charles Peterson has imagined it here on a wintry night in the 1950's when the store would likely have been the only action in town. Gus Klenke crosses over from his garage for a loaf of bread and a bit of friendly conversation. |
